John Henry Cecil Rhodes and his brother Manley Reymond Rhodes were two of Britain's most talented, yet relatively unknown British tattooists. Cecil was born in 1881 the same year as the tattooed attraction Captain Constentenus entered the public eye. His brother Manley was born 4 years later. In 1898 Cecil started tattooing in East London part time while working as a servant. His brother followed soon after.
This book tells the story of these 2 brothers gathered from the archives of Barnaby's father, tattooist and historian Lionel Titchener as well as from numerous newspaper articles, census reports and public records. This beautifully done book includes the Rhodes Brothers' color and black & white flash sheets, paintings, drawings and acetates.
