Kiddy Flash documents Don Ed Hardy’s early obsession with tattooing from1955-1957. He and his sidekick Len Jones (whose father’s WW II tattoos inspired them) set up a realistic shop in Hardy’s home. They drew images on neighborhood kids and displayed a multitude of designs. Trips to the Long Beach Pike amusement park inspired them—primarily from Bert Grimm’s shop, the flashiest of the Pike’s six shops.
